Rossella Croce with the baroque violin and Guido Morini with the harpsichord, propose a selection of Vivaldi’s work from the 12 Sonate per Violino e Basso Continuo. Music of rare performance but also of rare beauty, characterized by brilliance and virtuosity for the solo instrument, with an elaborate treatment of the bass, which often converses on equal terms with the violin. The Basso continuo is thus freed from the role of simple harmonic accompaniment and demonstrates an attention to the polyphonic and contrapuntal component that distinguishes the production of the young Vivaldi.
